Ungrateful game in Madeira with a 1-0 defeat witn Nacional.
Rio Ave FC’s team started well, to dominate, to attack and to pursuing the goal of victory. At the time the team was better off is signalled a penalty for because a fault by Cassio in the area, and subsequent red card to the Rio Ave FC goalkeeper. Rui Vieira entered the game and defended the penalty.
The half time arrived with a goalless draw. In the second half, Nacional sought to attack more, taking advantage of the numerical advantage and would reach the goal at 55 minutes.
Exposed to a disadvantage in marker, such as reduced by a man in the field, Rio Ave FC finished the match pressing Nacional to the area and looking for the goal that didn’t come up.
The 1-0 defeat with Nacional was the result less expected and desired, but does not deprive the 6th position nor in away from the European walk.
The next Matchday takes Maritimo playing in Vila do Conde, on Friday.
