The game with National da Madeira ended in a 1-1 draw (goals from Marvin and Marco Matias) much thanks to an inspired Gotardi.
The Nacional da Madeira goalkeeper defended a penalty and stoped other (many) opportunities that Rio Ave Futebol Clube had throughout the match.
The game begins practically with a chance, with Marvin alone in front the goal, but don’t get the shot, only with Gotardi ahead. Then followed by 2 more goal opportunities, with the ball running into, or the goalkeeper or at the foot of a defense, even if over the goal line. Then the penalty by Hassan defended by Gotardi.
The second half starts in the best way with the goal byMarvin. Soon after Hassan has another chance, that don’t come true.
Even after National having achieved the draw, Rio Ave Futebol Clube had more opportunities to score.
At the end of the match was 1-1 with Nacional coach Manuel Machado to assume, at the press conference, that “the winner would be the Rio Ave FC, for the opportunities they had, particularly in the first half.”
Pedro Martins already mentioned that “Gotardi and some anxiety are responsible for the draw”. Pedro Martins also left the message that “the big teams and the big players come in weaker moments and then be sure that what we demonstrate, we can return to a good period and to victories.”
